Only A Few Van Companies Left

The van conversion industry has shrunk to only a few companies. Fords & G.M.'s are still being produced. Dodge is no longer offering a full size van. The most recent news regarding the van business is that Accubuilt, the parent company of Tuscany Vans, is selling part of its operation to private owners. Tuscany is regarded as one of the best quality conversions in the industry and will still be in operation. Dealerships who stock conversion vans are almost nil. The best source is to shop online and buy direct. The economic down turn has affected the quantity of raw chassis being produced. A Savvy consumer can find availability on the Internet. Full size vans still offer more room and comfort than any other vehicle on the road.

  • True, and the sad thing is that there is still a need for conversion vans. I have found there are a fair amount of Ford and GM chassis available through the conversion companies I represent. Still, sad to see so many companies closing their doors.

  • Hey Jeff,

I really enjoy all your posts on here. It's great to find such an inside perspective.

I have a 1995 e-150 Hi-top Mark III that I want to do some interior modifications to. I'm trying to find out more about what specific materials were used to construct the insides of these vans. Is there an email where I can contact you?

    Thanks
